THOUSANDS of cyclists are expected to take part in the 2015 PPA Mangaung Cycle Tour in Bloemfontein on Saturday, 31 October, and Sunday, 1 November.

Steven Hayward, PPA chairman, says they are expecting this year’s event to be bigger than the one held in 2014.

“We are hoping to not only attract the local Free State riders, but also cyclists from across the country. We urge athletes to register on time to avoid disappointment,” says Hayward.

“We will be hosting various off-road events on the Saturday (31 October) and the prestigious road event on Sunday (1 November). This year’s event will once again be aimed at the recreational rider, but local professional riders are welcome to participate in the race.”

The cyclists will tackle 106 km – the 2016 Cape Town Cycle Tour seeding distance – or a 30 km route. Registration closes on 19 October at 23:00. Entry fees are R250 for the 106 km and R160 for the 30 km. PPA members qualify for a R30 discount for both races.
