JOHANNESBURG. – Free State Stars will be hoping to beat the unpredictable Mamelodi Sundowns to advance to the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout tournament when the two teams go on a date at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem on Sunday afternoon (25/10).

Ea Lla Koto who have displayed an impressive form under the leadership of Ernst Middendorp, qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament after they narrowly beat Bidvest Wits by 1-0 while Sundown beat Chippa United 2-0.

There are only eight teams remaining and teams know that it is just a matter of three games before lifting the trophy.

However, lifting the trophy will not be easy as players will have to show hunger to reach that goal.

The likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Sundowns who are favourites to win the cup, will have a high mountain to climb as they will be facing the teams which are hungrier for the silver wear.

The first quarterfinal game will see Pirates and Maritzburg United locking horns at the Orlando Stadium at 15:00.

Chiefs will travel to Mbombela to face former club mentor Muhsin Ertugral’s MP Black Aces at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is at 18:00. That game will be followed by SuperSport United hosting Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday night
