IN 2015, SuperSport’s Let’s Play celebrates ten years of encouraging the children of South Africa to take part in more physical activities, and enabling them to do so.

Daynah Calvert (10) has been chosen as September’s Express Northern Cape’s SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month for her brilliant performance in rhythmic gymnastics high performance.

Daynah has thus far been unbeaten in rhythmic gymnastics for 2015.

In all of the competitions she has competed in, she obtained first place overall, and she has achieved gold medals in each.

The competitions Daynah has taken part in include the following: the Jeffreys Bay Circuit, the Wierda Circuit, the Gold Reef Circuit and the Rythmia Circuit.

She also represented the Northern Cape and South Africa at the Prize of Queen Margarita Invitational Competition in Varna, Bulgaria, during August.

Daynah has been selected to represent the Northern Cape at the South African Games from Monday (05/10) to Saturday (10/10) in Johannesburg.

Daynah’s motto is: “There is power in people who dream big and who try hard.”

More on the Let’s Play initiative:

SuperSport has evolved as the quintessential South African sports authority over time. With such strong sporting influence within the South African market, SuperSport has been perfectly positioned to harness this power and rally the public and corporates to truly make a difference in society.

SuperSport has identified huge issues which severely inhibit the development of children through skills learned by playing, physical education and sport – all of which are imperative to the holistic development of young people.

It was from this insight that Let’s Play was born in November 2005, with the aim of elevating the awareness of our social situation and to introduce and encourage play, activity and sport in schools.

Send your SuperSport Let’s Play Sports Star of the Month nomination for school learners between the ages of 6 and 18 today (nominations received before the 20th of each month will be included in that month’s selection). You can email your nomination to supersport@zpr.co.za or fax it to 086-552-4922.
