Little things can steal your crown

2015-07-01 06:05

MY son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. – Proverbs 23:26

There are things in our lives that will reveal our real personality. The aim of temptation is to check the true state of a person.

Some people engage in fasting, as they feel they can “bribe” God with it.

However, in such instances, as soon as the fast ends they become worse than they used to be. Fasting reveals our true identity.

Some attitudes and behaviour we have are not becoming of children of God. For example, some people believe a particular seat in church belongs to them and if anyone dares sit there they will be vexed and tell such a person off.

However, if the president or prime minister were to take the same seat, they would not complain or make a move to remove them.

The scripture says in Matthew 18:6: But who so shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

We curse people in the church and when it is time for praise and worship, we appear so holy. According to us we are worshipping God, yet what we have spoken came from the real spirit inside of us – a reflex action.

The spirit that is worshipping God is not the real person, it is borrowed. This is why the scripture says in Matthew 15:8 (New Living Translation): These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.

Little things can take away one’s crown. What pushed away Adam from the garden was a little bite. We know he did not finish the fruit.

There is a slogan of a seafood restaurant which reads: Just one bite and you’re hooked.

A little, just a little of that evil thing and a person’s name is out of the Book of Life. It is so quick.

Prayer Point: Call the blood of Jesus ten times, His name once and pray: Lord Jesus, show me the way to heaven, I do not want to lose my crown of life, in Jesus’ name.

WoW: Fasting is the fuel of prayer.
