THE Gamagara

Development Forum (GDF) has announced the appointment of its new chief executive officer (CEO), Adv. Thusang Dennis Dituku, who is reported to have 14 years’ extensive law experience.

According to Motlogelwa Matsipane, the chairperson of the GDF, Dituku obtained his LLB degree from the University of the North-West and he is currently busy with his LLM (Labour) at the same university.

He also possesses numerous certificates and has completed some courses including Project Management from the University of Stellenbosch (US), Street Law Tutor at the University of the North-West, Competition Law – mining on the Compliance Line Institute – and he also obtained a certificate in Environmental Law for Managers from the University of North-West.

“His career started as an aspirant prosecutor at the Department of Justice and he worked as an assistant director and legal compliance officer at the Department of Health for four years before he was appointed as a contracts manager at the Department of Housing: local government.

“His career with Khumani started in 2008 as the local economic development superintendent where he implemented various SLP projects, and in 2012 he was appointed as the legal compliance specialist for the Assmang Khumani Mine,” said Matsipane.

Expressing his confidence in Dituku, Matsipane highlighted what a dedicated, hard-working professional the new CEO was, and that he had proven ability in various sectors such as government departments, NGOs and the mining industry.

He also received praise for having served on numerous community boards such as the Maphalane Development Trust as the company secretariat, the Gamagara Development Forum as a trustee, and he is currently serving as a council member of the Northern Cape Rural Technical Vocational Educational Training Colleges (NCR TVET) and he is also an independent advocate of the Northern Cape Bar.

“He has a passion for community development, human rights and supports the philanthropist and socialist ideology.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish him well in his tenure as the CEO, we believe and trust that with his expertise and knowledge he will take the GDF to greater heights.”
