Ntseki happy with draw

MOLEFI NTSEKI, the national u.17 soccer team coach, arrived home on Sunday (09/08) after a long and exhausting trip to Chile, well satisfied with the draw for the Fifa u.17 World Cup in October.

South Africa was drawn with Costa Rica, North Korea and Russia on Thursday (06/08) and will be based in Concepción, Chile. Ntseki attended the draw in Santiago and spent the weekend in Concepción, inspecting the stadium and facilities.

“The stadium is of a very high standard. It was used for the recent Copa America and has a great playing surface. We knew we would get a tough draw and we were drawn against three teams from different continents. We’ll have to prepare ourselves to face three different playing styles.”

Amajita play Costa Rica first in Group E on 19 October, followed by Russia three days later and then North Korea in their last group game on 25 October. The top two in the groups, plus the best four of the six third-placed finishers, advance to the knockout round. – Mzansi Football
