THE members of the Bothaville police and local Community Policing Forum brought a sense of belonging to different community entities, including the Bophelong Disability Day-Care Centre.

The members provided soup and spent time with children with disabilities.

This initiative was recently undertaken on 17 July as part of their 67 minutes for Mandela Day, a campaign through which South Africans continue to raise the late president’s legacy that encourages nation-building among South Africans.

The police crew reached out to needy people making a living by scavenging at the local landfill site where they donated clothes and food.

They also donated paint to the Mamellang Thuto Secondary School.

Through this heart-warming initiative, about 60 people X children, men and women X benefitted.

Lt.Col Motlalepule Lebusa, acting station commander, highlighted the importance of celebrating the 67 minutes for Mandela Day on 18 July and reaching out to vulnerable people and raising awareness about their suffering as well as supporting them.

In line with the initiative, the community was encouraged to act against rampant crime with police disseminating crime hints
