DR EUGENE WATSON, Road Accident Fund (RAF) chief executive officer, sends his condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those killed in the fatal head-on collision on the R30 between Bloemfontein and Brandfort on Sunday night (21/06).

Nine individuals, including two minors, died in the accident.

The next of kin of those who died in a Polo Vivo have indicated they still have to consult their family elders about the RAF’s offer to cover funeral expenses X as stipulated in the RAF Act X and also transport the bodies to the Eastern Cape.

The RAF is yet to engage the next of kin of the occupants in the other vehicle, a Ford Laser.

Meanwhile, the RAF originations team will visit the families once again after the funerals to originate claims for loss of support for the surviving dependents and other benefits for the surviving passengers.
