A GROUP of 19

learners

of the New Horizon College in Bethlehem recently had their dream realised when they visited the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein and watched the Currie Cup match between the Free State Cheetahs and the Western Province.

The school chose its first-ever rugby team this year and the u.16 group recently played their very first league match.

This resulted in great discussion, especially considering only eight learners have participated in rugby before.

In addition to the visit to the stadium, the boys also visited the statue of former Pres. Nelson Mandela on Naval Hill.

The boys thoroughly enjoyed both the game and the visit to the statue.

At the stadium, their heroes and icons were playing right in front of them, with many watching a game at the stadium for the first time.

After the match the learners also had a chance to meet the players of both teams and they took photos with the players.

They also played touch rugby on the field after the match
