THIS year’s edition of the Sun to Sun Marathon will be staged on Saturday (08/08) in Thaba Nchu.

It is sponsored by the Interstate Bus Lines and organised by the Fast Legs Athletics Club in Thaba Nchu. The road race makes provision for 21,1 km and 10 km races.

It is the premier road race staged annually in Thaba Nchu. The race will start at 08:00 at the Black Mountain Hotel (previously known as Thaba Nchu Sun) with finishing point at the Mmabana Stadium’s front, opposite the Naledi Sun.

The 10 km race will also start at 08:00. Free bus transport for participants will be provided from Central Park via Hoffman Square at 05:30 and again from Botshabelo at 06:00 to the Black Mountain Hotel and the Mmabana Stadium.

This race will be presented according to the rules of Athletics South Africa (ASA).

Entry forms are available at the Central Park help desk office from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 08:00 and from 14:00 to 18:00, as well as at the Fast Legs Athletics Club in Thaba Nchu.

Entry forms are also available on www.interstate.co.za.

On Friday (07/08), registrations will be done from 16:00 to 18:00 at Central Park.

On the morning of the race, registrations will be done from 06:00 at the Black Mountain Hotel and the Mmabana Stadium.

Prize money and medals are up for grabs in each category as follows: top three male and female seniors for the 21,1 km and the 10 km; top two male and female juniors for the 21,1 km and the 10 km; only one winner in the categories for 40 to 49 years, 50 to 59 years, 60 years and older, and male and female for both 21,1 km and 10 km.
