Tsutsulupa retires

FORMER Moroka Swallows captain Lefa Tsutsulupa has announced his retirement from football to take up a position as chief executive officer at the emerging player management company Bright Talent.

Tsutsulupa called it quits just months after the expiry of his contract at Swallows, where he gave a solid decade of service after joining from Jomo Cosmos in June 2005.

“It is time for change and I am now starting a new football-related venture as the CEO of Bright Talent player management,” Tsutsulupa told KickOff.com.

The 35 year old said he is happy with what he had achieved during his career, which started out at Bloemfontein Celtic in the 1999-2000 season.

“My career went through different phases and highlights, included turning professional with Celtic, which I consider as an achievement on its own.

“Then I went on to captain Swallows for several periods, stretching over five years. I won trophies in the 2009 Nedbank Cup and 2012 MTN8 and represented the country (seven Bafana Bafana caps) and those are achievements that give me joy.

“While my last season wasn’t my best X due to injury X it did not contribute to my decision to retire, because I always overcame my injuries.

“I am fully recovered now and feeling fantastic physically, but I felt I needed change.” – KickOff.com
