DAVID MOEKETSI, a Bloemfontein man and habitual burglar who allegedly robbed and raped an 86-year-old woman, is expected to reappear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on 13 May. He appeared in court last Thursday (21/04) facing charges of rape and house robbery. Moeketsi allegedly raped the woman at her house in Uitsig in February.

Chaka Marope, police spokesperson, said Moeketsi (32) had previous convictions relating to burglary. He said the suspect had allegedly raped the woman and made off with cellphones, money, jewellery and computers. He was busted on Tuesday, 19 April, in Bochabela, Bloemfontein.

Marope said the suspect had withdrawn his bail application during his appearance. Investigations have linked the man to four house robberies and rapes in the city last year.
