Bloemfontein Celtic will be eyeing their second Absa Premiership win at home against high-riding SuperSport United on Sunday (04/12).

The home lads’ only win on home soil came in narrowly by a 2-1 win over newcomers Baroka last Wednesday (23/11).

They hope to achieve this at Dr R.P. Molemela Stadium against SuperSport, who are unbeaten in 12 games, inclu-ding the cup and the league.

Phunya Sele Sele’s morale-boosting win followed a goalless draw against Polokwane City a week ago.

Having turned things around, interim-coach Lehlohonolo Seema can only hope for better results in Sunday’s pulsating fixture against informed SuperSport.

The visitors from Pretoria are on their best run of results in almost four seasons since they went 17 matches unbeaten in 2013.

A win or draw against Stuart Baxter’s charges will provide Seema and his co-coach John Maduka some sense of relief.

The pair has been assigned with the huge task of rescuing the team from dreaded relegation.

A draw against City and win over Baroka provided some glimmer of hope.

The much-needed win has seen Celtic move away from the bottom of the log, leaving fellow side Free State Stars rooted at the bottom without a win.

Thus far Phunya Sele Sele have registered three draws, four defeats and two wins with the first over Platinum Stars earlier in October under former coach Serame Letsoaka.

  • In changing things Seema and Maduka have also given new faces a chance to prove themselves and one of them is goalkeeper Ayanda Mtshali, who did exceptionally in two recent matches played at home. Today (30/11) Celtic face equally struggling opponents Highlands Park in an intriguing league fixture in the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa.

Separated by two points on the log, both teams are desperate for a win to ease their relegation woes. Park have managed to win one game out of ten played. Celtic have won two matches out of nine.
