Celtic hungry for win

2016-10-26 06:00

Bloemfontein Celtic are desperately looking for their first home victory in the current season. They will be playing host to Bidvest Wits in an Absa Premiership league fixture on Saturday (29/10).

Separated by three points on the log table (Wits seven points and Celtic four points), the two giants will face off in the Dr R.P. Molemela Stadium. Kick-off is at 15:30.

The hosts are yet to win at home, having lost two home fixtures – 1-0 to Maritzburg United and 2-1 to Lamontville Golden Arrows. Their poor form has seen Phunya Sele Sele fail to show authority in their backyard.

The local lads’ away record, however, looks impressive, having collected valuable points that include maximum points after their single 1-0 win over Platinum Stars. Celtic’s single victory propelled them to position 12 on the log table.

With an improved performance, Celtic could end Wits’ unbeaten record in Saturday’s tough encounter.

The visitors, led by coach Gavin Hunt, remain unbeaten after three league fixtures.

The other unbeaten clubs in the league competition are Orlando Pirates and Caf champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
