Challenge at Pirates

2016-08-17 06:00

ORLANDO PIRATES striker Ayanda Nkosi says he is ready to fight for a starting place while acknowledging stiff competition at his new club.

Nkosi arrived at the Buccaneers from Free State Stars last month after a fine second half of the 2015-’16 season.

The 23-year-old has welcomed competition from the likes of Thamsanqa Gabuza, Tendai Ndoro and Thabiso Kutumela for a place in the team.

“Competition is part of football. In football, there is always competition, whether you like it or not,” Nkosi told KickOff.com.

“There is always somebody you compete with for a position and all I can do is to work hard to stake my claim in the team.”

Nkosi came on as a second half substitute, as Pirates had managed to beat Platinum Stars on penalties to claim the Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup on Saturday (13/08).
