Champion cup tickets sold out

2017-07-19 06:03

Tickets are officially sold out, 12 days ahead of the much anticipated showpiece of the Carling Black Label Champion Cup featuring Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on Saturday, 29 July.

The announcement was made by the cup organisers on Monday (17/07).

The overwhelming reaction by South African football fans, for the past six years has proven this as an extraordinary derby that distinguishes itself from others as it gives them the privilege to be the champion coach by influencing the starting line-up.

This time, the fan experience was further enhanced by allowing fans to also select their preferred formation.

Delighted Carling Black Label brand director, Samori Gambrah, expressed that this is another milestone for them at Carling Black Label.

“It speaks volumes about the initiative, and demonstrates that the fans are hungry for football action during the recess.”

The Champion Cup comes at the right time whereby fans are anxious to see their new signees in action and also witness their team’s pre-season preparations.

“We would like to thank our champion coaches for their continued engagement and support of this unique initiative,” he added.

“We knew that partnering with the two teams in this campaign will transcend football. I cannot think of a better way to preview the upcoming season other than with a classic encounter between Kaizer Chiefs and their arch rivals Orlando Pirates in a stadium packed to capacity.” Gambrah concluded.

Although tickets are sold out, fans still have an opportunity to influence the outcome of the day and the starting line-up, through the power of selection in their hands.
