Councillors finish computer training

PHUTHADITJHABA. – It is official. All the councillors of the Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality are computer literate.

After the councillors attended a one year computer course at the Twin Peak Technology Computer and Management College, they were awarded their certificates at the recent graduation ceremony that was held in the Phuthaditjhaba Multipurpose Hall in Qwaqwa.

Moses Mofokeng, the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Twin Peak College, encouraged the councillors not to stop studying and urged them to keep conquering.

“Education is a journey. We should not give up on it,” he said.

He said the councillors must choose their next steps because they were the role models of the community.

Fanafikile Lephaga congratulated the councillors on their achievement. “Well done. We all know that you work in the community. You should encourage children to go to school. They should look at you as a role models. You have done it, so why can’t they do it too,” Lephaga said.

Dipuo Mboso, the acting executive mayor, also congratulated the councillors and added that they have proven against all odds that they can do it, regardless of their age and other commitments.

Malewatle Nthedi, the Speaker, handed over iPads to them during the event. “Leading a nation is hard, but we keep going,” she said.
