AKC Productions, in collaboration with local artists in Kimberley, brightened up the day for children at the Kekana Crèche in Galeshewe by giving their centre a facelift on Mandela Day (18 July).

The team spent the day at the crèche with the staff and children, where they were also joined by members of Operation Wanya Tsotsi.

Other than providing entertainment and sharing lunch, the team also donated cleaning material and revamped the building through painting the walls.

The CEO of AKC Productions, Kagisho Matthews, said the undertaking wishes to adopt this crèche that has been operating since 2002.

He added that they will raise funds towards building a fence to improve the children’s safety.

“People do not have respect and just use the crèche as a double-up,” lashed Mathews.

The principal, Edith Elilaad, was at a loss for words to voice her appreciation.

She described the initiative as restoring dignity to the 120 children at the centre.

“Our building was dull, but now it shows life – all thanks to Matthews.

“We wish him more blessings so that he will be able to bless others,” she said.
