CUT halts classes

2016-09-28 06:00

THE Central University of Technology (CUT) has suspended programmes at both Bloemfontein and Welkom campuses with effect from Monday (26/09) until Monday, 10 October.

The university’s management cited security concerns to suspend all programmes in the wake of widespread protests against an increase in tuition fees for the 2017 acade-mic year.

The CUT management stated that the decision to suspend the academic activities followed after the leaders of the students and management failed to address the current challenges and implications of the statement by the minister of Higher Education and Training, Blade Nzimande, on fees increase.
