Bloem Show is inviting interested parties to submit their creative crafts, art and baking entries to Bloem Show’s creative craft section.

The annual Bloem Show will be hosted from 27 April to 7 May in Bloemfontein.

Bloem Show’s creative crafts section is the largest of its kind in South Africa and is growing every year.

According to the chief executive officer of Bloem Show, Elmarie Prinsloo, the show received 2678 entries for this section last year.

This section of the Bloem Show also gives children the opportunity to learn about crafts that are almost on the verge of extinction.

As with the shows of the past, the creative crafts section at Bloem Show offers young and old the opportunity to enter and showcase their beautiful crafts, arts and baking skills each year.

Prinsloo says the show annually receives entries from all over South Africa and everyone is welcome to enter.

Knitwear, baking, bottled items, crocheting, patchwork and quilting, machine work, creative embroidery and carpentry are some of the skills displayed at the show exhibition.

“Flower arrangements, amateur photography, writing, art and needle craft for schools are the different classes one can enter. There is a section for everyone, young or old,” says Prinsloo.

“This section has many interesting crafts and hobbies. We would like to see and appreciate them all, so please enter your handmade items for this year’s Bloem Show,” says Sonia van Zyl, chairperson of the creative crafts committee at Bloem Show.

Therine Geldenhuys, coordinator of the hobby entries, encourages young and old to enter their creative work, from mosaic, fabric paint, clay figurines and wire-work.

All the classes are specified with detail on www.bloemshow.co.za.

Entries close on 30 March.

Contact Bloem Show during office hours by calling 051-448-9894 or send an email to info@bloemshow.co.za.
