WHEELCHAIR-BOUND DJ Kabila’s real name is Siyanda Makanya.

He is set to unveil his latest album at the Hiptown Lounge, the former Ekhayeni, in Bochabela, Bloemfontein.

This will be his first show in the City of Roses and will take place on Saturday, 4 June.

DJ Kabila’s latest album is Music Will Save the Day.

This is his third album.

One of the hottest songs on the album, “Fictional Chemistry”, is gradually receiving air-play on local radio stations.

Kabila worked with various artists to compile and produce the latest album, through which he hopes to make it big in the industry.

Some of the acts include the likes of Toshi, Mxo and Gift.

Kabila’s debut album, Believe, had a hit track with Amantombazana. This was followed by his second album, Soulistic Cuts Volume 1, a compilation album which reportedly sold 5 000 copies in the first week of its release.

Kabila was previously with Soulistic Music before parting ways to go solo and form his own label company, Music Soldier Entertainment, in 2007.

He has managed to even open new channels in his mission to reach greater heights, collaborating with various acts in the entertainment industry.

In his passion for music, he has not let his disability define him.

Kabila’s tour to Bloemfontein is part of his mission to market his latest album, which he hopes will do wonders.

His roots are in the dusty township of Mthatha in the Eastern Cape.
