HARRISMITH. – The New Horizon College recently hosted its annual Harvest Festival in the Simon Losaba Hall.

Every year the college hosts the festival with the aim to support a local welfare organisation. This year the beneficiary was Hope House.

The project offers the ideal opportunity to the school’s staff members and learners to show their gratitude by making donations to people who are less privileged. These donations include food and basic necessities.

The secondary Representative Council of Learners (RCL) was also able to make a monetary donation, which was much appreciated.

Christo Tsotetsi received the donations on behalf of Hope House and expressed his sincere gratitude.

Hope House was founded in December 2004 and is currently home to 30 children from the age of 2 to 16.

Hope House takes care of its children in terms of education, food, accommodation, activities and wellbeing programmes.

Khauhelo Qhomane, president of the secondary RCL, mentioned that it was only appropriate to have such a wonderful day of giving in the month of love.
