Three Bloemfontein-based football teams have only a slight chance to win the Free State ABC Motsepe League after losing significant ground to challenger Super Eagles.

The local sides are the Bloemfontein Young Tigers, Mangaung Unite and Bubchu United.

Provided that they win all their remaining five matches, Bubchu have a better chance at claiming the championship title than Tigers and Mangaung.

Bubchu are set to win all five games to finish on 65 points, while Tigers and Mangaung will both finish on 61 points.

Eagles, leading with 54 points, need to win three matches to edge out Tigers and Mangaung and four wins to end Bubchu’s race.

Raul de Freitas of Bubchu and his teammates are compelled to dig deep into their reserve to topple Eagles in this fiercely-contested league race.

Bethlehem-based outfit Eagles look destined to claim the Free State ABC Motsepe title.

Harmony, in second position on 52 points, remain the only threat to Eagles, who have managed to collect significant points in clashes at the top of the table.

Eagles could very well end the race on Saturday (01/04) by beating Harmony in the clash taking place in Bethlehem.

A victory for Eagles in this titanic fixture will leave them unchallenged in the title race.
