Eskom invites young minds

2016-06-15 06:00

THE Regional Eskom Expo for Young Scientists will once again be hosted at the Qwaqwa Campus of the University of the Free State (UFS) on 20 August.

During this event, learners from gr. 6 to gr. 12 will be introduced to the world of scientific inquiry. Learners, individually or in groups of two, will present their own scientifically researched projects.

These projects take an enormous amount of hard work and dedication from each learner. Learners who participate are exposed to great knowledge and life skills.

Furthermore, these projects usually guide learners in their career choices.

Learners from any school in the Eastern Free State (departmental or private) or learners who are doing home-schooling are more than welcome to enter this competition.

During the regional competition, learners with potential are identified and their projects go through to the national competition, which will take place in Pretoria in October.

Learners have the opportunity to win great prizes at the regional and national competition.

Teachers, mentors and guardians are welcome to contact A. Broekman (Regional Sciences Fair director for the Bethlehem region) on 082-921-0095 or to send an email to almarie030@gmail.com or to J. Filmalter (PRO Regional Sciences Fair Bethlehem) at judithfilmalter@gmail.com for information.

Please encourage students to participate in this prestigious event.
