Event aids local music

2017-05-03 06:01

A platform is afforded to local artists registered with the South African Music Rights Organisation (Samro) and the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) to market themselves in preparation of recording, mixing and mastering their work, whether it might be an album or a single, at a state of the art studio.

The event is expected to be hosted at the Bahamas Entertainment Lodge in Phajane, Galeshewe, on Saturday (06/05). This year it will feature a line-up with predominantly Kimberley-based artists and the aim is to extend this to neighbouring towns from next year.

The platform is none other than the Jump Off annual artist development event that aims to give deserving artists in the Northern Cape a chance to showcase their work which is ready to be released.

The event promises to pave the way for the marketing of talent on various digital platforms, including iTunes, and also to help give exposure to the artists’ singles on a national radio platform.

“This is the first event of this nature. Local artists are given an opportunity that will open doors for them. Fellow Northern Capers are encouraged to support the cause,” said Kagisho Mathews, director of AKC Productions.

“By attending the event, you will not only be going for the fun of it, but you will also be helping your fellow brother or sister and the Northern Cape to reach the dream of getting recognition in the entertainment industry in the country as a whole.”

Mathews added that some of the proceeds of the event would go towards radio listing projects for two selected artists.

For tickets, go onto the Jump Off Facebook page or the Arnold Communications and Productions page, send an email to kaymatt74@gmail.com or dial 071-829-5548.
