IT seems like churches have become permanent residences where Satan and his evil angels reside.

Every day, the world hears about how people who are supposed to be working for God are the ones working against Him and using his name in vain.

A fascinating case of rape and theft is underway in the magistrate’s court in Kimberley. Without discussing the merits and demerits of the case, one wonders why many pastors are counted amongst sexual predators.

In the court case, a trusting victim called her pastor to inform him that she is not well. Then the pastor drove to the home of the sick woman, collected her and took her to his home and used his penis to drive her demons away sexually. After the sexual intercourse, the poor woman was charged R25 000 for the sexual healing. The woman paid R23 000 and she still owes R2 000 to the pastor.

Somehow, sense returned to the woman after a month and she ran to the police to open a case of rape and theft and hence the arrest of the pastor and his appearance in court.

Part of the pastor’s defence is that the woman is his lover and he was calling the relationship off, but the woman does not want to part ways. She therefore concocted the rape and theft story.

The truth will emerge when the judge gives his verdict one day. The question is, since when did the church use a penis as a tool for healing?

How many more women in the church have had their demons driven away by having intercourse with the pastor and how much have they paid for the evil deeds? Are condoms used during the sexual healing or are all of them healed skin to skin?

Meanwhile, there is a story doing the rounds in Galeshewe that a pastor impregnated a 13-year-old girl from his church and the pastor is negotiating with the girl’s family not to report him, as he is prepared to pay a certain amount of money to the family.

It will be interesting to know how the man will escape the law once that little girl is discovered by the nurses as she goes to the clinic.

Women and girls seem to be easy pickings, as their emotions are quick to stir and predators know when to strike. Somebody in the country knows a poor woman in Galeshewe who sold her house and gave all the money to a church that was banned in Zimbabwe or Zambia, but is wrecking havoc in South Africa.

What about a woman, also in Galeshewe, who bought a tent in one particular church because she is in a relationship with the pastor?

That pastor is known to be bedding different women in the church, while the donating woman nurses pain at home. Is it true that somewhere in Galeshewe a retired nurse gave away one million rand of her retirement fund to the church against the advice and wishes of her children?

In my home township in Itsoseng in Lichtenburg, there used to be this evangelist who used to heal disabled people and the sick.

It only occurred to the township that all the sick and disabled people he had healed could not be traced anywhere in the township and none of the people in the tent could actually attest to knowing where these people came from.

Why is it that the devil and his angels use the good name of the church to visit pain on our lives?
