HARRISMITH. – A mini Makgolokoe reunion was held at the Mamello Support Group Centre at the Intabazwe location in Harrismith on Saturday, 4 June.

The aim of the reunion was to celebrate and also to teach the grandsons and granddaughters about their roots.

Manana Moloi, the organiser of the reunion, said they hosted the reunion for the family to get to know each other. She said it was ideal to host such an event, since some of them were not aware that they were relatives.

“We are here to celebrate. We have invited some of our elders, because we wanted them to teach us about our roots. We have invited all people from the Moloi clan. I am happy with the number that responded to my invitation. We know that some of them were committed, as it was a weekend,” she said.

Moloi said she was aiming for a bigger reunion in the months to come. “It was not good to see people from the same family fighting against each other when they have to love each other. However, we are a big family and if we don’t do things like this, they would end up not knowing each other,” she said.
