FIVE suspects, two women and three men aged between 27 and 38 arrested in connection with Alfred Helepi’s brutal murder, are expected to reappear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday (14/04). They are expected to apply for bail.

They are facing charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, armed robbery and theft of a motor vehicle.

One of the suspects is a woman, who was employed by Helepi at his business, Helepi’s Tavern in Phahameng.

Helepi died after being shot three times in his bathroom in his upper body and in his legs.

His attackers then fled using his vehicle, which was found abandoned in Phelindaba, Bloemfontein.

The five suspects were busted by the Hawks after an intensive search.
