Football galore on TV

2017-05-17 06:02

The SuperSport channels will soon be jam-packed with coverage of club and national continental football.

Live broadcasts will include the group stages of the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) premier club competitions, the Champions League and the Confederations Cup.

SuperSport will broadcast live a selection of matches of both the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and two CAF competitions, Champions League and Confederations Cup.

SuperSport’s selection of first-round matches in the group stages features the Champions League defending champions and runners-up.

It includes South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Zamalek of Egypt, plus the league champions from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Zanaco, Caps United and Al Ahly respectively.

The coverage will also include the continental juniors’ championship, the u.17 Africa Cup of Nations, which got underway on Saturday (13/05) and Sunday (14/05).

The eight-team tournament, being held in Gabon, will also serve as qualifiers for the 2017 Fifa u.17 World Cup in India later this year.

The four nations that progress beyond the youth Afcon’s group stages will represent Africa in India.

All u.17 Afcon matches will be live on SuperSport across four channels, SS9, SS9E, Select and Maximo 360.
