The Funza Lushaka Bursary Scheme invites unemployed youth and learners in Gr. 12 to apply for its 2017-programme.

Bursaries are open to candidates currently in Gr. 12 and also to unemployed youth who has already completed Gr. 12.

Applications are open for candidates to study
B Education (Ed) Foundation Phase, BEd Intermediate Phase, BEd Senior Phase, BEd Further Education and Training (FET) Phase and for the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), specialising in high priority subjects.

Preference will be given to applicants for the following subjects: African Languages, Sotho, Tswana, English, Xhosa, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science, Ge- ography, Life Science, Agricultural Technology, Civil Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology and Engineering Graphics and Design.

The closing date for the submission of all application forms is Friday, 4 August.

The recruitment for these bursaries is a partnership between the Free State Department of Education, the University of the Free State (UFS), the Central University of Technology (CUT) and the University of South Africa (Unisa).

These institutions have been conducting briefing sessions and recruitment campaigns in all districts since the beginning of May to inform interested candidates.

Application forms are available at the five district offices of the Free State Department of Education.
