For the first time in the history of the Masters Soccer League, only one team scooped all three trophies for the season.

The highlight of this years’ award ceremony was when Juventus swept the floor of all trophies, walking away with R14 000.

Congratulating the winners, Mzwandile Flatela, the head of the competition committee, said that it was a season of “Thatazonke” for Juventus.

“They deserved this honour after showing dedication in all of their games. Out of the 24 league games, they won 22 and drew only 2,” he said.

Flatella said the next season shows potential for great success, as there is interest from new teams to join the league on top of the existing 26 registered teams.

  • The chairperson of the Masters League, Seabata Makhele, said they are looking at putting more emphasis on their Social Responsibility Programmes in an effort of giving back to society. The first meeting for 2017 will be on 24 January.
