THE Bloemfontein police are asking for the public’s assistance in the search for two armed suspects still on the run. They are wanted for robbing a man of his red BMW last Wednesday (04/05). Capt. Chaka Marope, spokesperson of the Park Road police, said the victim had been attacked at about 21:00 while he was in the car with his girlfriend. He said the robbery had taken place in Universitas.

Marope said the robbers had produced a gun and ordered the vehicle owner to get out of his car, locked him in the boot and drove away, leaving the girlfriend behind.

“After an hour’s of ordeal, the victim managed to unlock the vehicle’s boot from the inside and, when it stopped in Steven Street in Universitas, he jumped out and ran for safety,” he said.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects and who might spot the red BMW with registration number FRW 903 FS, must contact the Park Road Police on 051-507-6000 or alert the nearest police station.
