The Golden Bean Music Awards has opened an enterprising opportunity for Azola Mlota (24) following his appointment as public relations media manager.

He is a third-year Language Practice student at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein.

Mlota said his appointment enables him to learn more about public relations, which he said has opened many doors for him.

His role has seen him already advocating the awards on SABC 2’s Mor-ning Live Show, as well as other local and national radio stations countrywide.

Mlota is amongst others a brand ambassador for Tracemobile and has an exciting opportunity to be master of ceremony at some events.

With his appointment, he hopes the music awards, founded by a Free Stater, will serve as an empowerment platform that will globalise African music and position Mangaung as an entertainment destination for music lovers.

“The awards event also seeks to honour individuals and groups that have preserved to produce music and entertain both the young and old throughout the years,” said Mlota.

The official hashtag and theme are “#DareToDiffer”.

The event pro-mises to keep the beat of African music alive, while showcasing the diversity of Africa.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held on 26 November at the Bloemfontein Civic Centre. Tickets are available from Computicket.
