2017-02-15 06:01

The Kimberley SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit is investigating the rape of a 21-year-old woman. The circumstances around the rape remain unclear.

According to Capt. Sergio Kock, the incident happened on Friday, 2 August 2016, at about midnight, when members of the community heard screams coming from the direction of the municipal dumping site in the Campbell squatter camp.

Upon investigation, community members found the 21-year-old woman half-naked and unconscious at the dumping site. She was taken to a house close to the squatter camp.

“The woman recalls that she was on her way home from the tavern and that she woke up in this house, where the police was contacted. She had several bruises on her body,” said Kock.

The police still needs information.
