Rapist sentenced

2017-10-04 06:03

Rape accused Jeffrey Motloung has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court ending the victim’s 11 years wait for justice.

The court sentenced the perpetrator recently for raping the victim, then 17 years old, on February 2006 in Bloemfontein.

The victim testified that Motloung threatened her with a knife on the night of the gang rape ordeal at a house in the Batho Location, Bloemfontein.

The court has further declared the rapist unfit to possess a firearm. The victim was heading home from a night out with her friends, when they were confronted by about five African males, wielding knives. The court heard the rapists took turns raping the victim.

Sgt. Ikobeng Hlubi, Mangaung cluster police, said the accused remained in custody until his sentencing.
