Rates, taxes payable at third-party points

2017-06-14 06:02

The Mangaung Metro Municipality urges people to pay their municipal accounts at service points at supermarkets and at the Post Office.

The municipality has been unable to render services due to the strike by workers affiliated with the South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu). The strike that started on 16 May is legal and is continuing in the wake of negotiations between the municipality and the union deadlock.

Qondile Khedama, spokesperson of the municipality, said the management and the union leadership continued to engage with employees’ representatives in seeking an amicable solution. Due to the strike residents and business are unable to pay their municipal accounts at the Mangaung Metro’s headquarters, Bram Fischer Building.

People can pay rates and taxes or purchase water or electricity services at Easy Pay, Pay@, Samba, the Post Office, Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay and other stores offering such service.
