Recipe leads to great success

PHUNYELETSO INVESTMENTS has grown over the years to become a household name in the property industry in the greater Mangaung area comprising Bloemfontein, Botshabelo and Thaba Nchu.

It is 100% black-owned and managed by a woman called Simangele Tladi, the founding principal. She founded the agency in 2008 and has transformed it to such an extent that it employs ten consultants. Tladi has a diploma in Project Management. The company provides services to private clients in the engineering, mining, construction, food and beverages, financial and marketing infrastructure development services industries, as well as to a broader range of South African clients in the public and private sector. In line with her vision and passion, Tladi turned it around to be an innovative South African construction, property and home development company focusing on various units of property and development solutions across the industries. As to the question of what inspired Tladi to venture into the industry, she says she has always been passionate about the property business, mainly using what already exists or starting from the bottom to make it as luxurious as possible. “We are property developers. I do research on a weekly basis in the course of our marketing through adverts in the press.”

At the beginning, the work was not without challenges and she encountered financing as the main challenge. “Financing the agency and having a monthly cash flow for the business to finance and marketing it was a challenge I had to overcome,” said Tladi. The daily challenge relating to clients is what she also has to deal with, such as striving to meet their needs when they do not qualify for bank-approved bonds and acquiring vacant stands.

“Potential buyers have to pay deposits, as some of the banks only offer 90% of the bond. Interested buyers fail on their score, keeping accounts up to date, or overcommitting themselves,” said Tladi. As to what makes the agency one of the most trusted in the property market in the Mangaung Metro, she said: “We do everything to fulfil our promises to our clients.”

Tladi said aligning with the ever-changing times, currently characterised by the hard-pressed economy of South-Africa, she plans on working towards introducing a new brand within the company. “The new brand will keep us going in hard times, in line with our goal to be a leader in our chosen property and housing development in the related market.”
