THE body of a 59-year-old man, with seven gunshot wounds, was found in Botshabelo on Monday morning (29/01) near the bus depot.

The deceased is known for selling livestock in the area. Police spokesperson Const. Peter Kareli said the victim’s cellphone and other personal items were found at the scene and his livestock was grazing nearby. A case of murder is being investigated by the Botshabelo police.

In another incident in Section L, two unknown males attacked a family with empty beer bottles on Saturday (28/01).

Kareli said the suspects allegedly broke windows and a door to gain entry to the locked house of the family of five.

Once inside, the suspects started to stab a 30-year-old male and he was stabbed more than three times on his back. An ambulance was called and the victim was taken to the Botshabelo Hospital. The police are investigating a case of assault with intention to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage to property.
