“YOUR body is private. You have the right to say no. Never get into the car of someone you do not know and never accept gifts from someone you do not know.”

This was some of the advice given to the learners of the Boitshoko Primary School in Kimberley by Const. Teboho Olifant. Olifant was part of the delegation of the Galeshewe Social Crime Prevention Unit and the Community Policing Forum (CPF) who visited the school on Wednesday (20/04) to address learners about dangerous weapons, peer group pressure and drug abuse.

About 50 gr. 7 learners were encouraged to focus on their studies and respect their teachers.

They were also told about sexual offences and to report any form of crime to the police.

The deputy chairperson of the CPF, Albert Marekwa, concluded by urging learners to refrain from walking in the streets at night as they could be vulnerable to crime.
