THE local soloist Nonkosi Sokoyi is set to offer a taste of good music through her performance in One Woman Show on Saturday evening (07/05) in the Bloemfontein Civic Theatre. The show starts at 19:00.

Born in Botshabelo, the singer goes by the stage name Miss Noxy. Saturday’s show will see her continue establishing her music career. Nonkosi will be performing songs from her debut album Her Highness. She recorded the album following the release of her single “Iskhathi sa Macheri” – meaning time of which paved the way for her music career.

Nonkosi has worked with prominent artists, groups and DJs. Artists she has worked with include Benjamin Dube, local groups Kaya and the Siwelele Band, as well as DJ Prince Kaybee. She has also done promotional work for the Old Gold Company.

Nonkosi is a member of Free State Woman Empowerment and of the theatrical group Paleho. She has taken part in empowering women as a founder of an organisation called A Proud Me.

She has featured at Macufe and has been involved in community service with the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in the Free State.

Nonkosi’s talent has earned her recognition as Best Female Vocalist 2013-2015 at the Golden Bean Free State Music Awards.
