Strengthen business through knowledge

2016-06-01 06:00

IDEAS to strengthen business by acquiring more knowledge will form the basis of the congress of the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) to be held in Bloemfontein from 5 to 7 June.

The theme is With Knowledge, it’s possible and businesses will get the opportunity to explore avenues to strengthen business and achieve economic growth. This is the 30th SACCI’s congress during which great minds are expected to discuss ideas on how to get businesses to thrive.

Adriaan Liebetrau, chief executive officer of the SAACI, said the event would create a platform for businesses to acquire the newest innovations, technologies and for business people to ask for advice and to get solutions to problems, which would help their businesses to thrive.

According to Liebetrau, strong emphasis on the newest innovations and technologies was in line with the theme of the congress. Parallel to the theme the exhibition of the congress will have an addition of a “busy-hub” where members can negotiate and sign business deals with fellow members.

“The theme, With knowledge, it’s possible, says we are dedicated to the efficiency and professionalism of the industry. Our programme will have four keynote speakers, nine hot topics, four solution sessions, eight out of the ‘ordinary’ workshops, two master classes, soap box and open mic sessions, as well as various case studies,” said Liebetrau.

He said the historic value of hosting the congress in Bloemfontein would see the organisation come full circle.

“The SAACI returns to the province where the idea of its formation was born in 1985. It is a key priority of the SAACI to showcase Mangaung as a business events destination. We strategically appointed local suppliers and purchased many goods locally to ensure we leave a lasting legacy,” Liebetrau said.
