SIHLE NGONYAMA’S (22) biggest dream is to study Auditing.

Hailing from KwaZulu-Natal’s Usethubeni Youth School, Ngonyama was recently recognised as the top matriculant during the national well done function hosted by the Free State/Northern Cape Region Correctional Centre.

He came top amongst all ten registered correctional centres for the matric examinations. For his hard work he got one of three laptops sponsored by Mediaworx for the top achievers as a personal item. He also got his framed certificate and a gold medal.

According to the shy learner, he will be assisting fellow offenders who registered for supplementary examinations after registering for his course.

Ngonyama is not entirely happy with his score of 74,1% that he achieved after all the hard work he had put into his school work.

“I worked hard and expected better,” he said.

The advice he directed to his peers was not to allow your past to pull you back.

Ngonyama had been been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for robbery in 2011. He now urges the youth to avoid doing crime and to work hard for what they wanted.
