Voters can win with shot at goal

2017-06-28 06:00

For the first time since the inception of the Absa Premiership League, members of the public will have a direct say in who the deserving recipient of the Absa-lutely Goal of the Season accolade should be.

Supporters and the public are encouraged to vote for their favourite goal of the season.

Participants stand a chance of being afforded a VIP experience, including the handing over of the award live at the awards ceremony on 10 July.

The eight winning monthly goals were determined through online voting by football supporters and the general public, who picked their favourite goal.

Supporters should now vote for the best goal.

The three goals with the highest number of votes when voting closes will be shortlisted, with the goal that has the most votes announced at the PSL Awards ceremony.

One prize winner of the VIP experience will be chosen in a random draw from the entire list of voters.

The competition officially opened on Monday (26/06) for all voters nationally.

Voting is open on www.psl.co.za and closes on Wednesday (05/07).

Finalists for the 2016-’17 Absa-lutely Goal of the Season award are:

  • August/September: Marc van Heerden (Chippa United) vs Baroka FC
  • October: George Lebese (Kaizer Chiefs) vs Ajax Cape Town
