2 000 New voters register in Umvoti

2016-03-09 06:00

UMVOTI’S 90 voter registration stations reported an uneventful two days with the only problem being a shortage of items, which was quickly solved by Greytown IEC personnel.

According to Chris Naidoo, Greytown IEC, 2 000 new voters were registered - 6 000 reregistered and about 4 000 checked to see if they were still registered.

If you were not one of the 12 000 who visited a registration station you can still check your registration by sending an SMS (cost R1) with ID number to 32810l, email elections.org.za or call 0800 11 8000.

A second voter registration weekend is scheduled to be on 9 and 10 April. The date for the elections, between May and August, has not yet been announced.
