Fifty ‘crocs’ at traffic light

2015-06-03 06:00

Sir, SOME years ago one of your readers noted that the traffic light opposite the library was taking too long to change.

He even taught us that you must count up to 16 crocodiles - if the traffic lights does not respond then there must be something drastically wrong.

Our electricians responded and sorted the problem out.

I have noticed that we now have our own “crocworld” at the intersection of King Dinizulu and Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi streets.

The crocodiles have grown in number to 50. Just stop at that traffic light and start counting “one crocodile, two crocodile”, up to 50, then your traffic light will change to green.

My attorney friend Mr Kluver, in a Zulu TV comedy called Sgud’isnaysi, when he waited impatiently for a very slow lift, coined an acronym CWOT = Complete Waste of Time.
