From the ditch

2015-05-27 06:00

WHAT an adrenalin-rush game was played on Saturday morning - Chris Fischer and Wessel Pretorius versus Sannie Balzer and Omo Dinkelmann.

The ladies had a very good start leading 9-1 on the fourth end. The men started to focus and slowly but surely fought back. On the last end Chris and Wessel were leading by 22-15. The ladies picked up four, but the men held on to take the club champion title with the final score 22-19.

Wessel is still a novice and this was the first club competition he has played in, so well done. Club singles are also due to start - if you have not yet entered, please contact Gerhard Balzer.

The club has also had a bit of a “face lift,” with new floor tiles, which are now finished. Thanks to the people involved in this project.

The club is hosting a fun bowls day on 16 June, diarise as this is a good way to spend a public holiday with sport and good company
