Greytown Mountain Bike Festival this weekend

GREYTOWN and surrounds will vibrate with cyclists­ this weekend as the popular Greytown Mountain Bike Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday starting and finishing at the Beehive.

Many out-of-town cyclists­ and their families camp for the weekend at the Beehive.

On Saturday there is a ride covering 35kms through forests, farm lands and veld.

Registration opens at 6am.

Temporary licences are R35 per day offering bikers a taste of classic mountain biking.

There are two routes - 50km and 25km. On both days there is a family ride of 10km and a children’s fun ride of three kilometres.

In addition there will be a 10km trail run on Saturday at 2pm and a 10km run at 9am on Sunday.

Throughout the weekend food and beverages will be on sale.

The Beehive will be abuzz on Saturday night with a pub evening on the go with great socialising and camaraderie for all.
