ON Friday, the Little Oaks welcomed their grandparents, who took the time to look at their grandchildren’s portfolios and were served tea, coffee and lots of treats by the kindergarten staff, volunteers and parents before they participated in a hands-on activity with their grandchildren. The “Little Oaks” and their grandparents had to colour in, cut out and construct the Gruffalo - the world’s best-loved monster from the award-winning story The Gruffalo, created by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, an activity that promotes learning and conversation.

The highlight of the day was the play of the Gruffalo story by teachers and volunteers. Each kindergarten grandparent took home a special picture frame created by their grandchild(ren) to remember this wonderful day
