Let us debate

2015-08-05 06:00

Sir, ALLOW me to give my take on the comments from “Ex-Greytonian” in the letter published in last week’s issue when he says “ratepayers nowadays just could not be bothered even though it is their money.”

The answer to that is that nothing is done about abuse and misuse of taxpayers’ money on a national level so how can they know what to do at local government level. Also there are community members who are benefitting from the corrupt activities of those in office here and elsewhere.

The question is, are Umvoti ratepayers getting what they are paying for. The answer will be “no”.

In conclusion there will be no strong comment on the issue since some ratepayers are benefitting from this extraordinary corrupt abuse and misuse of ratepayers’ money in Umvoti.

Nothing has been attained by the people of Umvoti since 2011 because the time is spent fighting between the political parties. The poor people of Umvoti are being marginalised as the parties battle for power.

The people will be able to respond next year in local government elections by voting out this Council of corruption and putting in a new Council.

Let us debate this matter further. Contact me on 073 358 2712 or on Facebook.
