Pink and Blue Fair next month

2015-10-28 06:00

THERE has been a tremendous response for businesses and individuals to ensure that Cansa will be able to send two mobile units to the Pink and Blue drive to take place in King Edward Park on Saturday 7 November.
The drive has been organised by the Superbody Wellness of Greytown to raise an awareness about cancer and to have on-the-spot screenings for breast cancer and blood tests (on the finger) to check testicular and prostate cancer in men.
The response to the request for donations has been so positive that Cansa can send the two mobile unit.

In conjunction with the screenings and tests, there will be brief talks to raise awareness, educate and emphasise the importance of what action to take and how important early detection is. Cancer is not a death threat if detected early.
The annual Shavathon will be available to all on 7 November to show support for those undergoing treatment for cancer and cancer survivors.
The choice is yours – have your hair shaved off or highlights of pink and blue to show your support. Donations will be appreciated towards Cansa.

Starting at 9am, on the lighter side there will be all the fun of the fair with stalls and entertainment, clothing, jewellery, cupcakes for Cansa, pancakes, curries, wors rolls, face painting, etc., plus a place to sit and have tea

Then all ages are expected to line up at 10.30am for the fun walk – speed walking or a gentle stroll starting from the park and round the surrounding streets ending back in the park.
All the Cansa and fair activities will continue during this time.

Traditional dancers from Tholinhlanhla and Indlovana Primary schools will entertain during the day.

The function will close at 3.15pm.
